NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED ANTIQUES SHOW RETURNS TO ST. PETERSBURG FOR TWO SHOW DATES

The Sunshine City Antiques & Collectibles Show Continues To Call The Coliseum Home

 

        ST. PETERSBURG, FL (April 20, 2006) – Tampa Bay’s most attended antiques and collectibles show has signed on for two show dates in St. Petersburg’s historic Coliseum next fall and winter.

        Recognized around the United States as one of Florida's top shows, the Sunshine City Antiques & Collectibles Show returns to the Coliseum October 13-15, 2006 and January 12-14, 2007.

        Last January’s show drew top antique dealers from though out the nation and attendance nearly topped 6,000.

        "Not only is the Sunshine City Antiques Show a perfect fit for the historic Coliseum, it is an important show to the City of St. Petersburg," said Coliseum manager Lauren Kleinfeld. "The show attracted thousands of people to the Coliseum and St. Pete last year."

        The Sunshine City Antiques & Collectibles Show features nearly 100 exhibit booths of antique furniture, art, porcelain, pottery & glass, silver, vintage clothing, toys and jewelry.

        St. Petersburg’s only antiques show also features a two-day appraisal fair. Antique appraising has become a hot business - spurred on by the cult-like success of the Antiques Road Show - the most watched series on PBS.

        WEDU and The Antiques Road Show have signed on as marketing partners of the Sunshine City Antiques Show.

        The stroll through yesteryear begins with a Friday night early buying event benefiting PBS WEDU Ch. 3 in October and All Children’s Hospital in January.

 

 

       The Sunshine City Antiques & Collectibles Show runs Friday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

        Admission Saturday and Sunday is $6 for adults. Admission to Friday’s early buying charity event is $10. Paid admission is good for the entire weekend. Children 12 & under are free and parking is also free.

        The Coliseum is located at 535 4th Avenue North in downtown St. Petersburg.
